Ranked Choice Voting

We support Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) for Sacramento’s local elections.

RCV gives voters more power and reduces the influence of money in politics It:

  • Elects candidates who better reflect community values
  • Encourages positive, issue-focused campaigns
  • Boosts turnout and amplifies diverse voices
  • Produces a majority winner in one election, with no runoff
  • Saves money for candidates and taxpayers
  • Lets voters follow their conscience, with no “spoiler” worries
  • Offers a simple upgrade that benefits voters and candidates
